Rhythm & Muse is currently taking a break from regular events, following the temporary closure of the Ram Jam Club. We are taking part in Kingston Connections in June though and we do need poets!
R&M is linking up again with the Stanley Picker Gallery, with a workshop on Wednesday 20 May (6-8pm) at the Gallery and follow up readings and poetry projection on Thursday 25 June in the Rose Theatre Gallery (7.30-9.30pm). Participants are also encouraged to book to join a special Streetscape walk with Fabien Cappello on Saturday 16 May, 2-4pm.
All events are free, so come and get involved!
Rhythm & Muse – a short history…
R&M was launched at The Lion pub in Teddington in 2007 by Alison Hill and Nick Poole and has hosted a wide range of poets and musicians and seen many new voices at the open mic. R&M took to the Ram Jam Club stage in January 2010 and enjoyed four more years of monthly events.
A gem of a venue, a lovely audience, and some great talent. I enjoyed myself immensely! Steve Pottinger
We ran two joint festivals with Kingston Writing School in 2011 and 2012 featuring many poets and musicians including AF Harrold, Liz Berry, Martin Daws, Roger McGough and LiTTLe MACHiNe. We have also staged events at Kingston Library, the Mary Wallace Theatre, the cornerHOUSE, the Landmark Arts Centre and the Rose Theatre.
We’ve enjoyed great feedback and many positive reviews – Greg Freeman from Write Out Loud was at Christmas finale – http://www.writeoutloud.net/public/blogentry.php?blogentryid=46032
I just wanted to say a big thank you for a great evening last week – what a wonderful array of performers! Jenny Messer
It was good to be back at the Ram Jam, another great evening with Rhythm & Muse. John Grant
