Rhythm & Muse celebrated its fifth anniversary this year with the launch of Lyrical Beats – a rich and diverse anthology including established poets and musicians plus many new and emerging voices, some published for the first time.
The first launch was at the Ram Jam Club on 27 September and featured more than 30 poets and musicians (see Gallery):
Maggie Sawkins, Jenny Messer, John Mackay, Fay Avsec, Laura Bottomley, Peter Francis, Armando Halpern, Susan Utting, Chris Hardy, Kavita Jindal, Nomi Ruth, Camilla Reeve, Alice Thurling, Anne Stewart, John Weston and Jane Sherwin in the first half – yes, all that talent in one hour!
After the break, the 60-strong audence enjoyed readings and performances from:
Judith Watts, Martin Goss, Jeewan Ramlugun, Julia Fletcher, John Grant, Laurence Owen, Alison Hill, Neringa Pangonyte, Julian Way, Anna Kornilova, Lauren Walters and, to round-off a brilliant evening, three songs from The Flying Blueberries.
Many thanks to everyone who came, read and performed – Lyrical Beats is well and truly launched!
Thanks too, as ever, to the R&M team: Laura Bottomley, David Hobbs, Nick Poole and Judith Watts.
The anthology will be available from Amazon, Waterstones Kingston and email orders via email@example.com
