Mia Jerome at the Ram Jam

R&M also runs regular nights to showcase Kingston University undergraduate and MA creative writing students at the lively Ram Jam Club. Our last event (October 2010) proved an exciting launch-pad for one performance poet:
Mia Jerome will be reading a poem on BBC Radio 4’s Women’s Hour on Wednesday 5 January (10-11am)
– so listen in!

I am a Kingston University student from Essex with a big personality and even bigger afro, who waxes lyrical on a range of subjects from celebrities to dieting to men and more! I will be hitting the open mic scene hard in 2011 with some exciting new material!

Mia went down a storm at R&M and we look forward to welcoming her back to read in February or March (dates and venue tbc). She’s since performed with Apples & Snakes at Jawdance where she was spotted by the BBC. One to watch!

We’re at the Ram Jam again (behind the Grey Horse in Kingston) in collaboration with Kingston University with guest poet Kathryn Simmonds, music and mayhem from Project Adorno and performances from Kingston University students.

We’re crossing the river again in June – to hold an evening at the Ram Jam (behind the Grey Horse in Kingston). This event is in collaboration with Kingston University and there will be extended open mic spots to showcase undergraduate and MA students’ work, plus guest performance poet Kayo Chingonyi and music from local band Nomi & The Points.
